My name is June. I grew up with my mother and siblings, and life was quite challenging, especially regarding education. As a single parent, my mother worked hard to provide for us, but it was not always easy.
In 2014, I joined the NRCF program, which became a significant turning point in my life. Through this program, I received sponsorship from Christi, who has played a crucial role in supporting my education and basic needs. I am deeply grateful for this support, as it has allowed me to pursue my dreams and overcome many obstacles.
I attended Nelson Mandela for my primary education and later joined Kenya High School for my secondary studies. During high school, I actively participated in extracurricular activities, including music festivals and sports such as handball. I also took on leadership roles, serving as the president of the Journalism Club. In 2024, I successfully completed high school with a B-.
Throughout my time at NRCF, I have benefited from various programs, including the Life Skills Program and computer classes. These programs have been instrumental in shaping my knowledge and skills, especially in making informed life choices, such as making healthy decisions about nutrition and understanding the importance of protective measures in sexual health.
My dream is to study at Kenyatta University and pursue a degree in Teaching. I have a strong passion for education and aspire to make a difference by nurturing future generations. If given the opportunity and the necessary resources, I hope to one day establish my own school to provide quality education to children in need.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my sponsor, Christi, and the NRCF program. Your generosity and kindness have changed my life by making my education possible and ensuring I had access to essential needs. Thank you so much.
