Nelson Mandela Students

You can make a difference in the life of a child!

A sponsor relationship not only gives a child a chance through education but also hope. Kids know that someone, somewhere cares. It changes everything.

We strive to recruit children with very high academic potential and a willing guardian who will guide them adequately. All they need is a caring person willing to sponsor and their lives can be transformed! Learn more about sponsoring a student

The cost to provide education to a primary aged student is $750 a year, or $63 a month. These students are usually new to the program and will enter 4th to 6th grade after sponsorship. On the waiting list today are over 100 children ages 8-10. They have academic aptitude and guardians who support education. All they need is a sponsor. Some of the students waiting for sponsorship are:

Secondary and Boarding students:

These students have typically been in the program for several years but their original sponsors have discontinued their support. Their continued success depends on your support. Since high school education in Kenya is usually boarding school the cost for this level is higher, $1250 a year or $104 per month. Occasionally students in primary school are also boarders, usually due to unsafe living situations at home.

Higher education and trade school students:

We support most of our students through some type of postsecondary/higher education. As these students get closer to seeking employment, it is a critical time in their education.  Please consider making this one- to three-year commitment. Post-secondary support may include transport, lodging and meals. The support cost for this level is $1,000 a year.

Current Sponsors

One of the most rewarding things about our program is the relationship that may be fostered between a child and sponsor. This is primarily achieved through written, photo, and video communication sent through our sponsor portal.
