Mary's Story:
My name is Mary Gathoni. I was born on twenty-sixth November nineteen ninety six meaning I am now heading fifteen years. I have a younger brother named John Githehu. He is twelve years of age. I think he is the coolest brother one should ever have since he is very funny and also very nice.
We live with my mother because our father passed away in the year 2004.That year I was a little bit young so I could not understand anything that was going on. I was not that much affected but as years went by I came to understand.
When my Father passed away we suffered a lot since my mother was jobless. We had to go back to my grandmother's house since she was our only hope. After a short period of time my grandmother had to send us away since she was fed up with us. We had no alternative but to leave.
Luckily my mum was given a single roomed house by a relative of hers. She then opened a small scale business for herself. One day as she was busy in her small kiosk an old friend of hers (I have to call her an angel) came and told her that there was a programme which was about to start to help people with needs just like her.
She was so very happy that she had to close her kiosk to come and inform me. After a week the same woman who informed my mum about the programme came for me and took me to a place where my photograph was taken and then asked questions about my life.
After three to four days I was called and told that I had a sponsor and not only a sponsor but sponsors since it is a whole family named THE GABRIEL'S FAMILY. Oh! l should call them my Guardian Angles since they really are. With them my life has really changed since my mum has now a good job and also my academics are high. I am also in one of the best high schools. You can't understand how grateful l am to NGONG ROAD CHILDREN ASSOCIATION.

I will now work hard to help the upcoming suffering generation I promise. So help me God!
