Brian

Brian Amai lives in the Slums of kabiria. He lives with both his parents, a twin sister, and two other siblings. Brian is in grade four, his favorite subjects are English and creative arts. His hobbies are reading storybooks and drawing. His favorite food is ugali and fish. Brian and his family live in a double room made from Iron sheets and timber, the living room is furnished with one old couch, table, television, and a plastic chair.
They have to share a bathroom and a pit latrine with several other neighbors in the same rental area. At night Brian and his siblings sleep on a mattress that is spread on the floor while the parents and the lastborn sleep in the other room, which also serves as a kitchen.
When Brian is of age he would love to be a building and construction Engineer. Brian is gifted in art (drawing to be precise) during his leisure time you will always find him drawing. Brian loves reading, and he loves being in school but he is not able to since his parents are not able to consistently keep him and his siblings in school as well as cater to other family needs.
His father works as a teacher in a primary school in the community while the mother depends on casual labor for survival, the income they get is little to sustain the family. Brian’s parents are hopeful and believe that if she gets the support she will successfully complete her studies and achieve her goals.
