Meet Derrick

  • Age: 11
  • School Level: Grade 5
  • Favorite Hobby:
  • Aspires to Become:
  • Home Background Information: They live in a single-room house located in a densely populated area, where families struggle with overcrowding and poor sanitation. The small space serves as both a bedroom and living area, offering little comfort or privacy. The environment is noisy and not conducive for study, yet the child remains determined to learn and succeed. The mother is the sole breadwinner of the family, relying on the little income she earns from casual jobs.
  • Personality Traits: Responsible and outgoing.
  • What getting a sponsor would mean: Getting a sponsor will enable the mother to save the little money she earns and use it to sustain the family and improve their living conditions. With the child’s education expenses covered, she can focus on providing basic needs.
