
Amazing Grace lives with her mother and father, she is a bright girl and has been performing well in school. She also performed well and passed our selection interview too. Amazing has been in and out of school due to school fees arrears attributed to the family’s financial incapability. She has been sent home from school several times and that interrupts her school life. Her mother sought help from NRCF because she believes good quality education will greatly benefit her child today and in the future.
Amazing would like to become a journalist in the future and has promised to continue working hard in school so that she can achieve her dream of being on TV. Amazing enjoys reading storybooks and playing with her neighbors’ children at home. Her favorite subject is Mathematics. She is a talented singer who also loves drama and acting. In school, Amazing is her teacher’s favorite. She is disciplined and well-mannered.
The family of 6 live in a double-room house made of concrete that is connected to electricity. Amazing sleeps on the floor of their house together with her two sisters. On average, she gets two meals a day and on good days she gets three meals. The family also shares washrooms with their neighbors.
Amazing’s mother and father are not formally employed. They do casual jobs to provide for the family. The mother washes people’s clothes while the father is a construction worker. If Amazing joins the program, she will continue studying in one of our focus schools. Amazing is a very jovial girl who interacts well with others and speaks with confidence.
