Neema

Neema has been attending school at Dagraje mentoring school. Her favorite subject is Kiswahili, She is good with literature which explains her love for poetry, and during her free time, she will either be reciting or creating poems. Her favorite food is pilau and beef. She also loves playing dodgeball games with friends from school and from home.
Nyaboke lives with her mother, elder sister in form two, an elder brother in grade seven, and a younger sibling who is four years old. The house they live in is one made from timber and iron sheets, the house has two rooms, the first room serves as the living room, kitchen and bedroom altogether, while the other room serves as a store. The caretaker allowed them to occupy the space after they completely were unable to afford house rent. Nyaboke shares a bed with her mother and their lastborn while the brother sleeps on the other bed. The house as well does not have washrooms, thus they share a toilet and a bathroom with several other neighbors.
Life for this family has been a tough one, dealing with two sick elder siblings, without a permanent job, making it even hard to provide shelter, food, and other basic needs as well. It’s as well a challenge to keep all of them in school, despite Nyaboke being a smart student her studies are affected largely since she cannot be in school consistently due to school fee arrears. Her mother is dependent on well-wishers to support Neema in her studies, to help her achieve her dream to become a Dentist and help her transform her life.
