Angel

Angel is a beautiful charming and bright girl at Jagiet Academy. She boards a matatu both to and from school. However many are times when the Parents are unable to pay for her transport hence she has to wake up earlier and walk to school. Leave alone transport fee, School fee has been a great challenge, especially now after her father fell ill with “Elephantiasis” and has been bedridden since the eve of this year. The mother is a casual Labourer who is nursing their months-old baby, life has been really tough on them especially now with the rise in living standards. Hence Angel is not in school consequently due to lack of school fees . Food has become their greatest challenge since the father can no longer provide while the mother depends on casual labor that is not promised.
The house they live in is a single-roomed house made from Iron sheets and timber. The house has been furnished with one old and a worn-out couch where Angel sleeps. The house has been divided into two by a curtain, they have one bed where the parents and the sibling sleep. The Environment is a mess and very unconducive for child upbringing, however, they have no choice but to live in the situation with the hope of things getting better with time. Toilet and bathroom facilities are outside and shared with the neighbors.
Angel is a good artist, she is gifted in drawing, you will always find her sketching whenever she is not into her books. Her favorite subjects are Mathematics and English, her favorite food is rice and beef stew. Her dream is to become a Medical doctor.
