Getting a sponsor is something that will be of great importance to Frankline at the moment. That is according to the child’s parents during our visit to their humble home. It is their dream to see their son be successful, finish school and become someone of substance in society through education. It is a humble family and getting sponsorship will be of great help to the child’s academic progress. Both parents do casual work so as to make a living but this is not enough to fully bill the family needs. At times, they have to forgo some needs due to a lack of enough money. It is therefore their humble prayer that their son is able to secure sponsorship in the program and be able to benefit from quality education.
At home, you can see old seats well arranged. Frankline sleeps on one of the seats while his other siblings and the parents share the only existing bed in the other room. Franklin says that he will work hard so as to be able to afford both beds for his family and even be able to provide a better life for them once he is done with his education. They have electricity at home which they use to do their various duties. The family shares washrooms with their neighbors because their house is not self-contained. The family is managing for now even as they continue to wait for the best that life has to offer them in the future.
Frankline is in Alpha Glory Academy and he is a top performer. He likes going to school but is usually sent home because he has school fee arrears. He says that getting a sponsor will solve almost all his problems and let him focus on getting good grades. His best subjects are Mathematics and English. The child aspires to become a pilot in the future and is therefore taking his studies seriously. When he gets a sponsor, the child will be able to join Jagiet Academy and be able to benefit from quality education.
