A CLOSER LOOK AT

OUR OUTCOMES

Over nearly two decades of focus, together we’ve built a
network of alumni who have realized a brighter future
and are changing the world in their own right.

70%

OUR WORK WITHIN CONTEXT SHOWS

STRONG EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES

Today, nearly three out of four alumni (70%) are earning an income—a rate far higher than
national youth employment averages. In a country where underemployment and joblessness for young people can reach 67%, our graduates are consistently bucking the trend. Even more telling: 77% of employed alumni have held their jobs for at least a year, demonstrating not only access to work but the ability to keep it.

BREAKING THE GENDER INEQUALITY GAP

EMPOWERING WOMEN

From the start, Friends of Ngong Road has been intentional about ensuring girls have equal opportunity. Today, 58% of alumni are women, and their success is clear: female alumni are employed at rates 20 points higher than their male peers—and far above the Kenyan national average for women. In a country where women too often face systemic barriers to employment, this is proof that our deliberate approach is making a difference.

75%

ARE PRIMARY
PROVIDERS

TRANSFORMING ONE HELPS MANY

RIPPLING IMPACT

Our mission has never been just about a single child. When one life changes, many lives change. Three out of four alumni are now the primary providers in their households, most supporting at least two others. 61% report savings, a sign of financial stability and resilience. Each student who thrives brings their family and community forward with them.

66%

ARE
SUPERVISORS

STUDENTS WHO GROW INTO

LEADERSHIP ROLES

Employment is just the first step. Our alumni are advancing, too: 66% of employed alumni now serve in supervisory roles, leading teams and shaping workplaces. 21% have been promoted in the past year alone, a signal of both performance and potential.

These numbers tell a story of young people who are not merely getting jobs—they are stepping into leadership, influence, responsibility, and success.
