When Nancy joined our foundation in January 2025 as the Employment and Partnerships Officer, she knew the role would challenge and inspire her. What she didn’t realize was just how deeply the young people, her colleagues, and the partners would touch her life and shape who she is today.
Leading the alumni program became one of the greatest privileges of Nancy’s career. She walked alongside young people during one of the most pivotal times in their lives—the journey from education into employment and self-reliance. Through initiatives focused on job placement, entrepreneurship, digital skills, and career preparation, she witnessed firsthand the quiet power of human resilience.
Nancy watched alumni secure their first real jobs, discover entirely new paths, and build the courage to chase dreams they once thought were completely out of reach. Standing beside them during those life-changing moments—whether polishing a CV together late in the afternoon, leading a training session, connecting someone to a hiring manager, or hearing the joy in a voice celebrating a job offer—brought her the deepest fulfillment of her time at our organization.
Her work also grew into building strong partnerships with organizations, employers, and donors who believed in Kenya’s youth. Every conversation and collaboration reinforced a truth that Nancy will carry with her forever: lasting impact only happens when people bring their hearts together around a shared purpose.
As Nancy closes this chapter, her heart is full of gratitude. She thanks the extraordinary organization’s team for their tireless dedication, the partners for believing in the vision, and most of all, the alumni—whose bravery, ambition, and quiet perseverance inspired her every single day.
