When a community joins hands for a good cause, incredible things happen. On Saturday, 19 September, our team welcomed 44 energetic volunteers from the Strathmore Community Service Centre to City Prime Academy. Together, we created a fun and meaningful day for 150 of our students.
Delicious Meals and Essential Support
First, the Strathmore volunteers rolled up their sleeves and cooked a hot, healthy meal for all 150 children. Sharing a meal built a strong sense of comfort and belonging.
In addition to cooking, the Strathmore team brought valuable donations for our families. Specifically, they handed out food packages and basic hygiene supplies. As a result, our students received practical care that helps meet their daily needs with dignity.
Inspiring Careers Through Youth Mentorship
Next, our Junior Secondary School (JSS) students joined an interactive career mentorship session. Joining JSS is a big step, so our young learners actively explore new educational paths.
During the session, the volunteers talked directly with the students in open, supportive groups. Because of this guidance, our youth asked big questions and learned what it takes to reach their goals. Meeting real-world role models naturally sparked fresh ambition and inspired our students to dream bigger.
Active Play and Team Building
After a morning of learning, the afternoon turned into pure fun on the field. Students and volunteers jumped right into energetic games and friendly sports matches.
Laughter and cheering filled the air as everyone played side by side. Most importantly, active play helps children build self-confidence, practice teamwork, and enjoy the simple freedom of childhood.
