  • Office tour – Elimu Hub and staff working stations
  • Alumni panel – hear success stories firsthand
  • Community visits to focus school and St. Joseph clinic

NRCF 20th Annivcersary

SATURDAY & SUNDAY, FEB 13 – 14

  • Anniversary celebration with NRCF stakeholders
  • Family visits and first-hand community experience
  • Lunch with your sponsored student in Nairobi

  • Wildlife & conservation – National Park, Elephant Orphanage
  • History & heritage – Karen Blixen Museum, Railway Museum

11:00–12:00 — Alumni panel:

Pick up from hotel to NRCF office
10:00 — Visit World Comp primary focus school
11:00 — Community walk: shoemaker, St. Joseph Clinic,
Marathon Weavers
2:00 — Transfer to Kahuho Road Academy

10:00–3:00 — 20th Anniversary event with parents and students

4:00 — Drive through Kibera

9:00–4:00 — Fun activity and lunch with sponsored children and staff

Option A: Karen Waterfront — water sports, arcade gaming, go-karting

Option B: Stedmark Gardens — animal zoo, snake park, amusement park, floating restaurant

4:00–5:00 — Visit students’ homes; groups divided by location

Each day offers two curated excursion options — from wildlife and conservation to
adrenaline hiking across the Great Rift Valley.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15

Wildlife & Conservation

OPTION A

Visit Nairobi National Park, Animal Orphanage, or Safari Walk — then the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Giraffe Centre, and Utamaduni Craft Centre for shopping.

OPTION B

A day trip to Crescent Island — a unique, privately owned wildlife sanctuary on the eastern shores of Lake Naivasha, famous for walking safaris among wild animals.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16

Agri-Tourism

OPTION A

A day trip to Guka’s Coffee Farm — a family-owned heritage farm in Murang’a, an hour from Nairobi, offering hands-on root-to-cup tours of the entire coffee-making process.

OPTION B

A day trip to Limuru Tea Country — 45 minutes north of the city, into pristine green highlands for a tour of the historic Kiambethu Tea Farm.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17

Nature Walks & Hiking

OPTION A

Hiking at Ololua Nature Trail, lunch at Cultiva Farm, then a visit to Mamba Village — East Africa’s largest crocodile farm — for crocodile feeding.

OPTION B

UN Walking Tour, hiking at Karura Forest, then shopping at Village Market.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18

History & Heritage

OPTION A

Karen Blixen Museum, then Karen Art Village, lunch, and shopping at The Hub Mall, Karen.

OPTION B

Visit the Kenya Railway Museum, Nairobi Gallery, and the Kenya National Museum, then lunch and shopping at Westgate Mall — including the Maasai Market.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19

Adrenaline Hike

OPTION A

Hike to Fitch Hatton’s Tomb in Kiserian, visit Kitengela Glass factory and shop, cross the swaying bridge, lunch at Maasai Lodge, then visit Silole Sanctuary.

OPTION B

Hiking at Ngong Hills — a ridge hike across rolling green hills with 7–9 wind turbines, stunning Great Rift Valley views, and the Nairobi skyline. Ziplining available.
