Stephjoy School is a girl’s private high school for above average girls in Rironi just outside Nairobi. While it is sited on a major road, the attractive white and red four-story brick building is set back from the road. Two playing fields separate the road from the school buildings. Alongside is a large field in which the school grows vegetables for food. The building is a hollow square with classrooms on the front and dormitories on the sides and at the back. The modern facility is situated in a spacious, pristine, and serene environment conducive for learning. The classes and dormitories are all made of brick and are well maintained. There are approximately 400 students of which we have about 12. The school offers a wide range of academic courses as well as a variety of extracurricular activities.
As in all secondary boarding schools in Kenya, the schedule is very rigorous. The girls rise very early in the morning and study or attend class most of the day. Meals are served in a communal dining hall at the back of the complex.
