Evelyne entered the program in 2016, but her sponsor wasn’t able to continue supporting her education due to COVID. She is in High School. She lives in Ngando slums with her parents and two brothers. Her family lives in a two roomed house made of iron sheets. There is electricity, but no water which they have to buy. They share bathrooms with other tenants but they are often very dirty. They use a kerosene stove for cooking their meals. She shares a bed with her siblings. Evelyne is known for being very disciplined and respectful. She does will in school and her favorite subjects are Kiswahili and English. Her favorite thing to do when she’s not in school is jump rope and kati (a local game). Her favorite thing to eat is ugali, a cornbread made out of fufu flour, and cabbage. When she grows up she would like to be a doctor.
