My Sponsorship

Thank you for being a sponsor with Friends of Ngong Road!

We know that you have many options for spending your charitable contributions and are very pleased that you have decided to trust with some of your investment.  The Board of Friends of Ngong Road take the trust you have given us very seriously and continually strive to improve your experience with us.

Sponsorships cover about half of our expenses for each of the levels the child attains:
 

  • Primary Day School Sponsorships:  $750.00 a year, or $63.00 a month covers about half the cost of the major elements of the program - including school fees and books, uniforms, Saturday Program, August Day and Grammar Camps, basic medical care and caseworker support. 
     
  • Boarding School Sponsorships:  $1250.00 a year or $104.00 a month covers the increased cost of sending the children to boarding school away from the distractions of their homes in the slums.  High school boarding schools are the norm in Kenya and include school fees, uniforms and sundries, books, food three times a day and activities.  Although the schools look very basic to us they provide such here-to-fore unheard of luxuries such as running water and a bed for each child.  While not a requirement, we hope as your child ages you will consider increasing your contribution to help us cover these costs.
  • African Sponsorships:  62,000 Ksh per year cover the same expenses as the Primary Day School Sponsorships (above).

This page is your portal to information about your child.  We hope in future to be able to share assessment reports, letter archive, and photo libraries with you through this screen.... but for now, we can offer two options:

Correspondence with your sponsored child

One of the most rewarding things about our program is the relationship that may be fostered between a child and his or her sponsor.  This is primarily achieved through email and regular mail.  You cannot know how important your letters are to the children.  It is almost certain that your letters are the only mail they have received in their lives.  Remember, they do not even have a home postal address!
