While about half of the per-child costs are covered by the sponsorship fee, the organization in Kenya has other needs that are not covered. Sustaining funds are used to cover the salaries of the case workers, the cost of running the Nairobi office and library, extraordinary health care for seriously ill children and for the many other challenges that come their way. Virtually all funds raised are sent directly to Kenya. Fund-raising activities in the USA are paid for by Board members.
