Financial Overview
Friends of Ngong Road's operating principles emphasize a strong focus on ensuring that donor investment and trust is well placed and drives measurable outcomes. Given the concern about corruption in Africa, financial accountability has received a great deal of focus from the organization's U.S. Board members.

This is the first year we have produced a full-fledged Annual Report to go with our audited, published financial statements which have been available online for several years (see below). You will read about our accomplishments for the year, see how we are measuring success, learn about our financial status, and hear a wonderful story about one of our emerging student leaders.
Ngong Road Children Association's (Kenya) financial processes and controls were developed in 2007 by the U.S. co-founder in consultation with a Kenyan audit professional. Those processes have been reviewed by an independent auditor each year in Kenya and in 2011, the U.S. CFO spent a week in Kenya examining our financial processes and making minor modifications. The sister organizations continue to refine their controls and operate with strong financial infrastructure, including sophisticated modeling and forecasting tools that allow leaders to deeply understand the financial levers that drive operations.
We first conducted an audit in the U.S. for 2009 since very little of the money we raise is spent here. All available audits of Friends of Ngong Road are availble here.
Copies of our Form 990 since the organization's inception in 2007 are available here.
