Makuri Girls School - Secondary Boarding School (High School)
To reach Makuri Girls School, one travels more than three hours from Nairobi in the direction of Meru and Mt. Kenya. The mountain is the backdrop for the school and is a dramatic point of conversation there every day. When one visits school in Kenya you can tell almost immediately upon entering school grounds whether pride, discipline and hard work are an every day factor in the fabric of the school. Makuri Girls is very orderly, clean and well-structured. It is the school where we send all our girls who score above 225 and below 350 on the KCPE. .
Classrooms
The facilities are of a very high standard made of cement block and glass surrounded by well-tended plantings.
Dorms and Dorm Living
The dorms are made of the same material as the classrooms and have room for laundry and bathing facilities. At left are two of our students in the courtyard in front of fresh laundry which each student does daily.
